Best Maryland Sweepstakes Casinos 2026: Legal Status & Sweeps Bonuses

Quick Facts About Maryland Online Casinos

• As of 2025, traditional online casinos remain unavailable in Maryland.
• The Maryland General Assembly is considering a bill seeking to formalize online casinos.
• While online casinos are unavailable, sweepstakes casinos remain legal in Maryland.
• Popular sweepstakes casinos in Maryland include SpinQuest, Rich Sweeps, and High 5 Casino.

Are Online Casinos Available in Maryland?

Maryland is one of the 43 US states where traditional online casinos are not available. However, the idea of an online casino in Maryland is not a pipe dream, as Little America is one of the five states with existing legislation to formalize online casinos, alongside Illinois, Massachusetts, Maine, and Virginia.

Earlier this year, State Delegate Vanessa Atterbeary proposed House Bill 17 to the Maryland House of Delegates, and the bill is currently at the committee stage of the legislative process. The bill, titled “Internet Gaming - Authorization and Implementation,” seeks to authorize the State Lottery and Gaming Control Commission (SLGCC) to license qualified online casinos in Maryland and regulate their operations.

The bill is expected to pass through the committee stage easily, as State Delegate Vanessa Atterbeary, the original sponsor of House Bill 17, also chairs the Ways and Means Committee, which is currently overseeing its review. Afterwards, the bill will be scaled through further readings in the House of Delegates before it’s passed to the Senate for similar legislative action. If it passes, we’ll likely see some of the US’s best online casinos in Maryland next year.

House Bill 17 is not the first attempt by the Maryland General Assembly to legalize online casinos in Maryland. In 2024, Senators Ron Watson and Nancy King co-sponsored Senate Bill 603 seeking to legalize online casino and poker. The bill understandably got significant pushback from casino unions and lobbyists, stalling in the legislature before it even went to a referendum.

However, while online casinos remain unavailable in Maryland, sweepstakes casinos operating a dual virtual currency model are very much alive, even surviving a recent ban attempt by the state’s legislature. Sweepstakes casinos operate slightly differently from traditional online casinos, as they use virtual currencies, such as Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins, instead of real money.

Best Sweepstakes Casinos in Maryland

While you still can’t play at traditional online casinos in Maryland, the state remains one of the hubs for leading sweepstakes casinos in the United States. We’ve tried several, and here are the best sweepstakes casinos in Maryland:

Crown Coins Casino – Play at the Most Popular Sweepstakes Casino in Maryland

CrownCoins Casino: Pros & Cons

• iOS App
• Great Coinback Program
• Many Promotions Available

• Limited Table Games
• Lackluster Filters

Visit CrownCoinsCasino

Crown Coins Casino has been one of the state’s most popular sweepstakes casinos for a while, thanks to its unique bonuses, diverse games, and user-friendly design. New players receive a 100,000 Crown Coins + 2 Sweeps Coins welcome bonus package to play the site’s over 400 sweepstakes games, including titles like Queen of the Crown and Crown Coins GT Tour, a collaborative release between Crown Coins Casino and SRO America.

The site is available in 41 US states, including, of course, Maryland. Beyond the welcome bonus available to new players, we also found a compounding daily login bonus, a referral program, several coinback offers, and a VIP club on Crown Coins Casino, allowing players to claim complimentary Crown Coins and Sweeps Coins for both fun and promotional gameplay.

Claiming the bonuses on Crown Coins Casino only requires registration; we didn’t need to supply a promo code to unlock any of the bonuses. While the site currently lacks table games and live dealer titles, its highly specialized slots collection is worth its weight in gold, making the site worth trying nonetheless, unless you’re specifically after sites with games in those categories.

SpinQuest – Get 100,000 Gold Coins + 2 Sweeps Coins to Play Slots and Live Dealers

Spin Quest: Pros and Cons

• 50 SC Minimum Redemeption

After claiming the bonus, we tried a few fun games like Le Bandit, Le Viking, and The Dog House Megaways, all incredibly popular Vegas-style slots.

SpinQuest is available in all states where you can play Crown Coins Casino, and it offers several sweepstakes promotions aside from its signup bonus. For starters, new players get a 66% discount on their first $30 optional Gold Coin package purchase, among other similar offers, making SpinQuest one of the more rewarding sweepstakes casinos for Maryland players.

High 5 Casino – Play 1,500+ Games at This Old Sweepstakes Casino in Maryland

Rich Sweeps – Best Maryland Sweepstakes Casino for Games

Rich Sweeps: Pros and Cons

• User-friendly mobile site

Unlike High 5 Casino, Rich Sweeps is one of the newer sweepstakes casinos in Maryland, but it’s already showing potential among players with its increasingly growing audience. With over 2,500 slots, Rich Sweeps is one of the few sweepstakes casinos that can rival High 5 Casino in game selection, and it also gives new players complimentary Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins through its several bonus offers.

After claiming Rich Sweeps’ welcome bonus, we tried Vitamin Joy and Spinman before heading to the live dealer category for a few spins of Live Roulette. If you’re after a bespoke sweepstakes gaming experience in Maryland with no compromises, try Rich Sweeps.

Gold Treasure Casino: Pros and Cons

New Gold Treasure players get 100,000 Gold Coins + 3 Sweepstakes Coins to kickstart their experience, and the welcome bonus unlocks access to a light library of just over 300 sweepstakes games. On games, we found slots in abundance, from popular names like Gates of Olympus to more niche titles like Voodoo People, although live dealers and table games are conspicuously missing from the site.

Gold Treasure is available in 41 US states, including Maryland, so sweepstakes enthusiasts in Little America should have no problems playing on the site. It’s not the first on our list of sweepstakes casinos in Maryland, but it’s definitely one of the best, from the games to the bonuses.
