PGA Tour Expert Picks: RBC Canadian Open Predictions & Best Bets

PGA Tour Expert Picks: RBC Canadian Open Predictions & Best Bets

It's far from the biggest golf story in the world right now, but we were *this* close to hitting our +6000 winner last week. Wyndham Clark was one shot off the lead in the back 9 on Sunday before coming apart at the seams. We still cashed his Top-20 with ease and now the PGA TOUR rolls on. Being used mostly as a tune-up or rest period for some big names ahead of the U.S. Open, the RBC Canadian Open is our event this week, taking the stage of Oakdale Golf and Country Club in Toronto.

We have a handful of Best Bets worth taking, let's dive in. Also, make sure you visit Dimers all golf season, where we'll be feeding you our PGA best bets on a weekly basis. These PGA predictions are made with our predictive analytics model and world-class artificial intelligence, and our data has already found some nice edges to start the year.

Dimers' Golf H2H Matchup Tool compares our model's head-to-head probabilities for golfers competing in the current PGA Tour tournament. Choose your players and switch between Fair Odds or Percentages.

RBC Canadian Open Betting Preview

The RBC Canadian Open will take place at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club in Toronto, its first time hosting the event. It has 27 holes and a combination of them will be used for the front and back nine. The course is a Par 72 totaling 7,264 yards and holds a $9M purse.

Our model's most likely winner is no surprise; Rory McIlroy is the back-to-back champion of the RBC Canadian Open and is the clear favorite this year. That comes with the caveat that he won in 2019 and 2022 (no event held in either 2020 or 2021). However, aside from the fact that Rory has a bit more on his mind this week, we've found three other winners worth a look.

Best Bets to Win the RBC Canadian Open

We aren't looking too far down the board this week, but we do have three bets with some value.

Tyrrell Hatton gets an 11.4% chance to win from DimersBOT which gives us about a 3% edge against the books' odds of +1100. As our seventh-ranked golfer in the world (pre-LIV-PGA merger), Hatton is a popular man in this column. He came up three strokes short of a T5 finish at Memorial, which we had picked pre-tournament. Hatton is playing great golf; he hasn't finished outside the Top 20 in his past five tournaments. He's due for his second TOUR win.

Matt Fitzpatrick gets the third-highest probability from our model at 8.7%. His odds of +1400 imply just a 6.6% chance to win, so we get a little value here. A mixed bag of a golfer, Fitz has traded missed cuts for Top-20 finishes all year. However, four of his five MCs came in the first two months of the year, with just one in his past six events. He's six weeks removed from a win at the last RBC event and we like his chances against a less top-heavy field.

Tommy Fleetwood is our third outright pick at +2000. We give him a 6.9% chance to bring home the bag this week. Looking for a bounce-back after his first missed cut of the year at Memorial, Fleetwood has a pair of top-five finishes in his last six events, ending just two strokes off the lead with his T3 finish at the Valspar Championship. Like Fitzpatrick, he's one of our picks in our H2H matchups parlay and has a better chance with four of our top-five ranked golfers sitting this one out.

BET: Tyrrell Hatton (+1100), Matt Fitzpatrick to Win (+1400), Tommy Fleetwood (+2000)

Best Placement Bets for the RBC Canadian Open

Looking beyond our outright winners, we've got two placement bets to consider. We're running it back with Tyrrell Hatton to finish Top 5 again. Our model gives him a 36% probability to place Top 20, but his +260 odds suggest just a 28% chance. We're getting an 8% edge on this bet and all the reasons we liked him to win apply here.

Let's slide down the board for a Top 20 pick and go with Eric Cole at +240. He gets a 36.8% chance from the DimersBOT and has a T15, T23, T24 and MC in his last four events. He's more than capable of such a finish in a less competitive field and we get a nice 7% edge.

These aren't the only value plays on the board, but our selected ones based on our model's recommendations. Check out our full Predictions for the RBC Canadian Open to find your favorite plays!

BET: Tyrrell Hatton To Finish Top 5 (+260), Eric Cole to Finish Top 20 (+240)
