The Yankees responded to their manager's ire yesterday, halting a skid to record a win against the Blue Jays to round out the weekend. While that is good news for Yankees fans, their happiness could be short lived with a midweek 2-game date with the Mets, and Max Scherzer (9-2, 2.15 ERA) dealing heat tonight. The dominant ace will be looking to respond himself after he gave up 4 ER to the Braves in his last appearance on the mound on August 17. He has the edge against in the pitchers duel against Domingo Germán (1-2, 4.45 ERA) and should restrict the floundering offense of their cross city rivals.

Reds vs. Phillies, 7:05PM ET

The Reds are rolling with two straight wins over the Pirates on Saturday and Sunday, no doubt giving them confidence as they head to Philadelphia to meet the Phillies for the second time in a week. Last week Cincy got a modest result against the Phils, claiming one of the three games but staying competitive for the majority. They've got their offense going right now, averaging 4.5 runs per game over their last 10. With Noah Syndergaard (7-8, 3.95 ERA) and Luis Cessa (3-1, 5.50 ERA) starting things off, the DimersBOT is expecting a free flowing contest. While much has been made of Joey Gallo flourishing since being traded away from the Yankees, that too can also be said for Jordan Montgomery who has flown under the radar as one of the hottest pitchers on form in the MLB right now. The former New York ace has given up just one run in his last three starts on the mound for St. Louis - and the Cardinals have won each of those three. He's primed to keep that momentum going against the subpar Cubs.
