The 2026 NFL season opens with a divisional heavyweight in the late window: the Washington Commanders travel to Lincoln Financial Field to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, September 13. Kickoff is still weeks away, but the early markets are already posted, and the
First TD Scorer
market is where the biggest Week 1 payouts live.
Philadelphia's backfield remains one of the league's most productive scoring units, and the touchdown market has priced it accordingly. Saquon Barkley opens as the shortest number on the board to find the end zone first — and
has posted an interesting First TD Scorer price around him.
Featured Prop: Saquon Barkley First TD Scorer (+475)
on Saquon Barkley to score the first touchdown of the game against the Commanders.
- The board's clear favorite:
Bet365 prices Barkley's Anytime TD at -110, a roughly 52.4% implied chance and comfortably the shortest anytime number in the game. The next name on the board, Jalen Hurts, is out at +135, which is the gap the book sees between Philadelphia's lead back and everyone else.
- Predictive Value:
At +475, the First TD market implies roughly a 17.4% chance Barkley opens the scoring. That reflects genuine concentration of red-zone work rather than a speculative longshot — Philadelphia's scoring hierarchy runs through him.
- Game script:
A 4.5-point spread and a 46.5-point total point to a game Philadelphia expects to control at home without it turning into a shootout. If the Eagles get out in front early and lean on their backfield, the goal-line volume that makes this prop land arrives naturally.
- The competition:
Hurts at +700 is the obvious alternative given Philadelphia's short-yardage tendencies, and Jacory Croskey-Merritt at +850 leads the Washington side of the board. Everything else on the panel sits at +1000 or longer.

Expert Prediction: Commanders Vs. Eagles
Utilizing state-of-the-art data analysis and advanced algorithms, the experts at
Dimers
have performed 10,000 simulations of the Commanders vs. Eagles matchup.
According to Dimers' predictive analytics model, the
Eagles are more likely to win
at Lincoln Financial Field. This prediction is based on the model giving the Eagles a
67% chance
of winning the game, with a projected final score of
Eagles 26, Commanders 21.
The model also leans to the
Eagles covering the 4.5-point spread, with the projected five-point margin clearing the number. On the total, the model's projected 47-point combined score sits marginally above Bet365's posted 46.5.
These predictions and probabilities are accurate at the time of publication but are subject to potential changes.
Commanders Vs. Eagles Best Bet
Our top pick for the Commanders vs. Eagles game is to bet on the
Eagles -4.5 (-110)
at Bet365.
Dimers' model projects a five-point Philadelphia win, which clears the number, and laying -110 on the spread is materially cheaper than the -220 the moneyline demands for the same read on the game. This expert betting advice is based on world-class modeling and valuable betting intelligence, designed to help you make more informed decisions.
Final Thoughts: Commanders Vs. Eagles
Week 1's late window opens with an NFC East rivalry game. Philadelphia hosts Washington as a 4.5-point favorite with the moneyline at -220, and Bet365's 46.5-point total signals a book expecting both offenses to move the ball without either running away with it.
The headline angle is Saquon Barkley in the touchdown market. At +475 to strike first, he is the shortest First TD price on the board — and if you'd rather back him without needing the opening score, Bet365's
-110
anytime price is the more conservative route to the same read on Philadelphia's red-zone hierarchy.
