Let's get into our best bets for the NFL Offensive Rookie ⬇️

NFL Picks: 2022 Offensive Rookie

Top Pick - Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh Steelers

A new era has dawned at Acrisure Stadium (formerly Heinz Field), with University of Pittsburgh star Kenny Pickett set to take over as the starting QB of the Steelers.

After 18 years of Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers are looking at the 20th pick from the 2022 NFL Draft to lead them to success in 2022 and beyond.

Pickett will step into a great system, with RB Najee Harris set to provide the perfect foil for the rookie QB.

With the Cleveland Browns' QB situation up in the air, the Cincinnati Bengals' O-Line still something of a concern, and the Baltimore Ravens no lock to improve on their inconsistent 2021, the window could be open for the Steelers to once again take the AFC North.

Pickett is used to winning (11-2 last season) and will provide a new angle for the Pittsburgh offense, with his rushing game much more advanced than Big Ben's ever was.

Value Bet - Garrett Wilson, New York Jets

Pick 10 in this year's draft, former Ohio State Buckeyes wideout Garrett Wilson is set to play a big role in what should be a season of improvement for the Jets.

Wilson improved each year he spent as a Buckeye, with 2021 seeing him go for 1,058 yards at an average reception of 15.1 yards, with 12 TDs also a college personal best for the receiver.

As a member of the 2020 First-Team All-Big Ten (and Second-Team last year), Wilson will help form a crop of young offensive players for Jets fans to hold onto, with a big season on the horizon for QB Zach Wilson, as well as the best rookie RB in Breece Hall.

If Wilson can form a formidable partnership with his namesake at QB, New York fans and media will ensure he is very much in the race for the Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Dark Horse - Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

A man that didn't even feature in our list of odds at the top of this article, Cade Otton could well prove to be the best long-shot bet you can make this NFL season.

With Rob Gronkowski looking increasingly more likely to not come out of retirement, there's a hole in the Bucs lineup at tight end which Otton will be eyeing off.

Across his four years at the University of Washington, Otton averaged over 11 yards per reception, getting in for a total of nine touchdowns.

Although he's currently behind Cameron Brate and Kyle Rudolph on the depth chart, Otton has very similar measurements to Gronk and could easily find himself involved in a lot of snaps if Tom Brady is to take him under his wing.

Last 10 NFL Offensive Rookies:

  • 2021: Ja'Marr Chase (Bengals)
  • 2020: Justin Herbert (Chargers)
  • 2019: Kyler Murray (Cardinals)
  • 2018: Saquon Barkley (Giants)
  • 2017: Alvin Kamara (Saints)
  • 2016: Dak Prescott (Cowboys)
  • 2015: Todd Gurley (Rams)
  • 2014: Odell Beckham Jr. (Giants)
