Free Soccer Picks and Predictions – English Premier League, Ligue 1, Bundesliga Bets

The best free soccer handicapper in the game is back for another week, with the great Prospector Sam providing free picks for all the action across Europe.

If you ever want to humble yourself, spend some time gambling on soccer. As I had the pleasure of remembering on Saturday and Sunday, you will inevitably run into a week that feels about as fun as 72 hours in a Bond villain torture room. It’s an unfortunate reality that never gets easier and never feels good, but it’s part of the game and a hurdle you need to jump over a couple of times during the course of a 9 month season. No excuses and no spiel about how I’ll “try harder next time” (trust me, I try plenty hard, sometimes I just fucking lose), but this is my way of taking a moment to acknowledge it/own up to a bad week, then put that shit behind me.

And, to any of you who are learning the tricks of the trade in sports gambling, this is something you should get good at. Every gambler, no matter how successful, has weeks that would put them in a mental institution if they lingered on them (now, I may belong there regardless of circumstances, but that’s neither here nor there). But, just like with great weeks where every backdoor hits and every bounce goes right, the next step is to move on and push forward. You don’t get rich by hanging your hat on past performances, you do it by putting in the work every week and then letting the cards fall. So with that, the Gold Diggers say goodbye to an awful article of picks and march back to the mines to, naturally, dig for more gold (well, mining may not be the best metaphor for the moment, since it involves heading into a dark cold hole of sadness, but it’s the one I’m using). With that, Picks!

Free Premier League Picks For Week 6, 2021-22

Leicester vs. Burnley, Sat Sept 25, 10:00am (EST)

Sean Dyche is a hilarious human and a solid manager, which makes it sad that his only tactic is to suck the life out of every match his team plays (presumably he also hates puppies and prefers rice cakes over candy, but those rumors are unconfirmed). Even worse, he’s pretty good at it. Burnley go into every match trying to win 1-0 and they usually do a solid job of limiting chances on both sides of the field (but particularly for themselves). More importantly, in the context of this match, is that Burnley’s tactics are not what Leicester want to face. The Foxes thrive on counter attacking soccer, which requires that your opponent actually attack, and, since Burnley have no intention of doing so, Leicester will be forced to deploy the unfamiliar strategy of possession-based offense to try to break their opponent down with passing. That doesn’t bode well for their goal scoring chances, nor is there ever a strong chance of Burnley putting in more than 1 goal (it hasn’t happened yet this year), so I expect this match to hit the under. At just -102 for that bet, the money is solid for a game that could easily end with 1 or even 0 goals.

⛏️ PICK: Total goals UNDER 2.5 (-102, 1.5 units)

Leeds vs. West Ham, Sat Sept 25, 10:00am (EST)

I’m going to start this with a preemptive warning; every single West Ham game this year has gone over EXCEPT for the one I picked (which ended 0-0). If things go wrong here, I may need to consult with an astrology girl to get my chakras back in line (or whatever it is people do to fix bad juju). Ridiculous superstition aside, though, this game feels like another strong candidate for the over. West Ham are scoring and conceding like it’s going out of style, and Leeds are more than happy to play a completely undisciplined brand of soccer that leads to tons of chances. While the home side’s inability to finish this year may be a bit of a concern, there will be a plethora of chances which should lead to at least 3 on the scoreboard. The money isn’t exactly huge at -154, but the payout is right for the risk and its worth using as a bankroll builder.

⛏️ PICK: Total goals OVER 2.5 (-154, 2 units)

Brentford vs. Liverpool, Sat Sept 25, 1:30pm (EST)

Despite 13 points through 5 matches and a +11 GD it somehow feels like Liverpool aren’t getting enough credit. Between all the Ronaldo fangirls squealing over United, City’s incredible lineup, and Chelsea’s UCL title, there just doesn’t seem to be much spotlight on Klopp’s side. But, though that may be true, they’re playing as well as any team in the Prem and have given up a single goal through 5 matches so don’t sleep on them. Moving to the other side of the pitch, Brentford have had a decent start to the year, but their best opponent so far has been Brighton and they’ve yet to face a team who’s talent could blow them off the pitch. That creates some great value for us, since the books seem to be giving the Bees a bit too much credit despite being an inferior club who’ve played only 5 premier games in their history. Liverpool’s talent alone should crush their opposition, and I fail to see how Brentford contain all the attacking talent they’ll be facing. I don’t do it often, but I like the spread in this game a lot. Liverpool -1.5 is around +132, and I expect them to comfortably win this match, even on the road, against a team who just don’t have the horses to keep up. Give up the extra goal and bet Liverpool to handle this one by 2 or 3.

⛏️ PICK: Liverpool -1.5 (+132, 2 units)

Arsenal vs. Tottenham, Sun Sept 26, 11:30am (EST)

Where do we even begin with these two endless pits of sadness? Arsenal and Spurs are a catastrophe in pretty much every sense of the word, and the only thing separating them right now is that Spurs have gotten slightly luckier to start the year with a trio of ugly 1-0 wins. Don’t worry, though, because Harry Kane’s clear lack of effort after failing to secure a transfer this summer is slowly rotting the club from the inside and they’ve lost 3-0 in back to back weeks. Arsenal, meanwhile, are trying to overcome the challenge of employing a coach who knows as much about soccer tactics as the old lady down the street who thinks the birds are spying on her. Who do you trust? Absolutely nobody. BUT, what we can trust is complete ineptitude, which means we should ride the under. These two teams have scored a combined 5 goals in 5 Premier League games, and neither looks even slightly capable of changing that given their current form. Based on that statistic alone the value should be low, but at -136 it’s really not all that bad. I don’t love taking another under, and it will be disappointing to see a boring North London Derby, but you have to trust what you see here. I just can’t find where the goals are coming from (unless Kane decides to stop sulking) and this match probably won’t have much life to it.

⛏️ PICK: Total goals UNDER 2.5 (-136, 1 unit)

Free English Championship For Week 9, 2021-22

West Bromwich Albion vs. Queens Park Rangers, Fri Sept 25, 3:00pm (EST)

You knew it was going to return eventually, and now is the time to welcome back our old friend the WBA over. Funny enough, West Brom’s recent form doesn’t suggest the over is all that likely here, considering it hasn’t hit in the Baggies’ last 4 matches. But their style of play still creates a boatload of chances and they will eventually break out for a big goal scoring night, since they still average about 2 goals per game. On top of that, they face a QPR side who’ve scored 16 goals and conceded 12 through just 8 games which means there will be no shortage of attacking in this match, and we could see a pretty big tally at the end of 90. Look for this game to cover the number comfortably, and welcome back the nice comforting hug that is the WBA over.

⛏️ PICK: Total goals OVER 2.5 (-138, 1.5 units)

Free Bundesliga Picks For Week 5, 2021

Hoffenheim vs. Wolfsburg, Sat Sept 25, 9:30am (EST)

Wolfsburg are part of a small band of not-so-merry-teams succeeding in the Bundesliga by playing boring soccer. While Dortmund produce some of the most exciting games you can watch, Mainz, Freiburg and the aforementioned Wolfsburg all sit in the top 6 while averaging 2 goals or less in their games on the year. Shame on all of you. But, since that’s the reality of our situation, we might as well take advantage of value, and getting positive odds on Wolfsburg to go under is a bit of a puzzler. Only one competitive match this side have played this season (7 in total) has gone over 2.5, and Wolfsburg will continue that trend if they get their way. Hoffenheim play slightly more attractive soccer, but they’re the weaker side in this fixture and are unlikely to be able to impose a more open style of play, especially since Wolfsburg is on the road. Look for a snooze fest in this match, but laugh all the way to the bank on some plus money that doesn’t fit what we’re seeing statistically or tactically.

⛏️ PICK: Total goals UNDER 2.5 (+122, 1 unit)

Free Ligue One Picks For Week 8, 2021

Strasbourg vs. Lille, Sat Sept 25, 1:00pm (EST)

I’m not sure anyone believed that Lille was going to defend their Ligue 1 title, but I’m also pretty sure nobody saw this coming either. The holders have 8 points through 7 matches (which puts them 13 off first place) and are losing to clubs like Lorient or Lens. While that may be true, though, I’m working under the assumption that eventually they’ll get things back on track and start beating teams they expect to beat (like they did midweek against Reims). Enter, Strasbourg, a mid to bottom-table team who’ve looked pretty inept this year aside from two wins against teams in relegation spots and a victory over Lens solely from the gift of a red card. While Strabourg may have more points than Lille and are at home, Strasbourg don’t have as much talent as the visitors and will struggle more with the midweek fixtures because their squad is thinner. I think Lille builds off their midweek success and handles this match, which has some serious value at +165.

⛏️ PICK: Lille moneyline (+165, 2 units)

Free Belgian Pro League Picks For Week 9, 2021

Beerschot vs. Eupen, Sat Sept 25, 10:15am (EST)

Beershcot are absolutely fucking awful, and that may be sugar coating things (despite having a delightful name that I love saying). The home side have 1 point through 7 matches and a -12 GD, which paints the picture pretty well. Eupen aren’t any great shakes either, but they’re sitting in 4th with 14 points through 8 matches and are playing decently enough to beat up on lesser teams. I didn’t expect a ton of value here, but, to my surprise, Eupen are +130 on the money line which seems crazy for how terrible their opponent is. On the road things could be a bit tougher and Beerschot have given a couple of teams close scares at their stadium, but the disparity in quality is too big to pass up at positive money. Take Eupen to handle their business.

⛏️ PICK: Eupen moneyline (+130, 2 units)

Free Danish Superliga Picks For Week 10, 2021

Nordsjaelland vs. Copenhagen, Sun Sept 26, 10:00am (EST)

Setting aside the fact that I keep picking games whose teams I can’t pronounce, I know value when I see it. Copenhagen are coming off a tough loss last weekend, and are facing a Nordsjaelland side who’ve had a strong season in terms of results but simply don’t have the class to keep up with their opponents. Copenhagen are regularly at the top of the Super League and can draw better talent to the club with the guarantee of European football, meaning they should be able to outclass their opponents here, regardless of form. The value isn’t the best at -135, but I feel comfortable enough with this team right now to take them to handle this match. Just don't try to pronounce Nordsjaelland, or you’ll come off sounding like a fool.

⛏️ PICK: Copenhagen moneyline (-135, 1.5 units)
