Syracuse vs. Clemson Analysis

Why Syracuse Will Cover The Spread

Syracuse has been one of the most surprising teams this season. The success of Dino Babers’ squad can be attributed a lot to the defense. Syracuse has only allowed over 20 points once this season. The Orange rank in the top 12 in FBS in scoring defense, total defense, pass defense and rush defense. All around, Syracuse has a really good defense.

The line in this game is at Clemson -13.5. For Syracuse to cover, it needs to play well defensively. Defense typically travels better than offense in general, so this needs to be a low-scoring affair for the Orange to keep it within two scores. Another key for Syracuse is to win the turnover battle. If the Orange turn the ball over and put their defense in a vulnerable position, Clemson will capitalize.

The DimersBOT likes Syracuse +13.5 here. The Orange don’t have an explosive offense, but the defense will keep them in the game on the road. This could also be a letd-own spot for Clemson. The Tigers have played three road games in four weeks, against Wake Forest, Boston College and Florida State. Their only home game in that four-week stretch was against NC State. It’s hard to play at a high level for five games in a row.

Why Clemson Will Cover The Spread

Clemson has one of the most complete rosters in college football. There is no obvious weakness on this team. The Clemson offense will need to perform against a tough Syracuse defense. The best defense that Clemson has faced until Saturday is NC State. The Tigers still put up 30 points against the Wolfpack. Clemson also takes care of the football. The Tigers have only turned the ball over five times in seven games this season. They don’t gift wrap anything to their opponents.

The Tigers also have one of the top defenses in the ACC. Clemson is top 30 in FBS in scoring defense and total defense. Even if the Clemson offense has a bad game, the Tigers are good enough to win this game on their defense alone.

Why The Over Will Hit

While both defenses are above average, both offenses can also hold their own. Clemson has scored 30 or more points in every single game this season. Syracuse averages 36.0 points per game. Running back Sean Tucker is one of the top rushers in the country. The combo of quarterback Garrett Shrader and breakout wide receiver Oronde Gadsden II could prove to be tough for the Clemson defense to handle.

Clemson also has solid weapons like running back Will Shipley and a solid receiving unit. This will be one of the better offenses that Syracuse will face this season.

The total is set at 49.5. The DimersBOT likes the Over. Don’t be shocked if this game gets into the mid-50s.

Why The Under Will Hit

For the Under to hit, the defenses have to be better than we expect. This would have to be a low-scoring, slow, run-heavy type of game. While that is a possibility, we expect Syracuse and Clemson to open the passing game.

Both teams simply have too many offensive weapons for this to happen. We don’t see Tucker or Shipley being halted in the ground game. The defenses will perform well, but the point total at 49.5 is too low.

Syracuse vs. Clemson Prediction

Lean: Orange +13.5

The point total seems a bit murkier than the spread. Underdogs went 41-12 against the spread in Week 7 of College Football. We like the underdog trend to continue here. Syracuse will keep this game close.

We strongly suggest taking this with the DraftKings bet $5 to get $200 offer mentioned at the top of this article because, even if the Orange don't cover, new customers still get $200 just for joining and placing a successful $5 moneyline bet on the gameYou can claim it ➡️ here ⬅️.
