Minnesota Golden Gophers vs. Virginia Tech Hokies - 7:00PM ET

It's easier to buy into the idea of this Virginia Tech basketball team than their results so far this season. The Hokies showed their potential down the stretch of last season, winning the ACC Tournament and then returned many key faces to this year's roster, only to be "meh" at best through seven games.

All four of VT's last four games have been decided by five points or less - and they haven't been playing world beaters. That stretch includes games against Old Dominion (Kenpom's #137 team), Charleston (120) and Charleston Southern (290). Minnesota (154) isn't a great team by any stretch of the imagination, but Dawson Garcia and Jamison Battle are good enough to keep this one close.

Kansas Jayhawks vs. Texas Southern Tigers - 8:00PM ET

Texas Southern has played a monstrous schedule this far this season with games against Texas Tech, Houston, Auburn and now Kansas. The problem is that the Tigers haven't shown the ability to keep those games close, losing by an average margin of 25 points in those three games. In fact, each of Texas Southern's six losses have come by double digits, including uninspiring games against Oral Roberts and Samford.

Kansas isn't the best team in the country this year, but they should come into this one hungry to prove that last week's loss to Tennessee wasn't indicative of any problems going forward. The Kansas defense is good enough to smother Texas Southern's offensive attack. We like the Jayhawks to win this one big.

Northwestern Wildcats vs. Pitt Panthers - 9:00PM ET

It feels a little weird to say this out loud so early into the season, but the Northwestern defense might be....good? Currently ranked 9th in the country, the Wildcats have only allowed 60 points in a game this season once - when they defeated Georgetown 75-63. Last game, they held Auburn to just 43 points in a 43-42 loss. As you can tell, Northwestern still has plenty of offensive problems of their own.

Enter a Pitt team that has scored in the 60s against every top 100 team they have played this season and we expect this to be an ugly grind of a game. Northwestern should dictate a very slow tempo (305th nationally) helping lead to a comfortable Under play here.
