The Phils and Nats split yesterday's doubleheader but it'll be the Phillies looking to put the pressure on today as they get nearer to locking in postseason baseball. They'll get the ultimate boost with the Nats sending Patrick Corbin to the mound for what should be his final appearance of a season that could be classed as nothing less than utterly dreadful for the ace. Corbin (6-18, 6.08 ERA) last faced off against the Phillies on September 9, giving up 5 ER in 6.2 innings. If Philadelphia don't destroy Washington today, they probably don't deserve to be advancing too far out of the regular season.

Pirates vs. Cardinals, 2:15PM ET

The Cardinals have taken care of business against the Bucs so far this weekend with two wins from two games on Friday and Saturday, but they might expect a slightly harder game today. Roansy Contreras (5-5, 3.72 ERA) will be on the bump for Pittsburgh, and while he does have a recent game against the Yankees that got a little out of hand when he allowed 6 runs, he has otherwise had a consistent 2-month stretch - including a 5.1-inning performance where he allowed just one run in a 8-2 win against this very Cards team on September 9. Opposing him on the mound will be Adam Wainwright (11-11, 3.51 ERA) who has not been in the greatest of form, allowing an average of close to 3 runs per start across his last 10 outings. You shouldn't be writing the Pirates off today.

Rockies vs. Dodgers, 4:10PM ET

German Marquez vs. the Dodgers? Pray for Marquez. The Colorado pitcher has been just awful all year with a 5.12 ERA and is coming up against Tyler Anderson (15-4, 2.54 ERA) - one of the league's most economical pitchers. LA can pile it on quickly with their batting lineup and they will be lining up to feast today. This is a case of two teams just too far apart in class.
