How our MLB player projections work

At Dimers, we simulate every MLB game thousands of times using advanced models built on historic and predictive data. These simulations feed directly into our projections, generating realistic stats for players across all 30 MLB teams—updated as lineups, roles, and conditions change throughout the day.

For hitters, lineup position is factored in—giving greater weight to players with stronger RBI and scoring opportunities. For pitchers, opponent strength is reflected through scoring expectations and matchup adjustments.

By layering in ballpark factors, like how certain parks favor home runs or run production, our projections create a sharper, game-specific view of player performance.

We break our projections into two key categories
