NBA parlay picks for Friday night feature Darius Acuff, Paul George

Friday night’s NBA betting slate resumes the NBA Cup action with a packed nine-game slate of matchups, and we've found three high-volume shooters in good spots. Paul George and the Celtics visit Charlotte, Damian Lillard takes Portland’s unbeaten road record into Los Angeles, and rookie Darius Acuff Jr. hosts the Spurs in Sacramento.

This week’s parlay is a trio of threes props, each at 3+ made. Each leg is backed by our NBA player projections, and all three players are among the top ten in projected made threes on Friday’s slate.

Leg 1: Paul George 3+ three-pointers made

Game: Celtics @ Hornets

The data case: George has been Boston’s most reliable shooter. He’s made 24 threes in seven games, which leads the team, and is shooting 41.4% from deep. He has hit 3+ threes in five of those seven games. That includes Wednesday’s 25-point night against Milwaukee, when he went 5-of-9 from three with Jayson Tatum resting.

Charlotte's opponents have attempted 34.6 threes per game, which ranks 6th fewest in the NBA, but they are allowing opponents to hit their threes at 38.9%, the fourth-worst mark in the league. That should give George plenty of open looks.

We project George for 2.6 made threes and 17.6 points.

Leg 2: Damian Lillard 3+ three-pointers made

Game: Trail Blazers @ Lakers

The data case: Lillard has been off the mark in his past two games, going 3-for-13 from deep, but he's bounced back from his worst shooting nights with 3+ twice this season.

He’s averaging 2.7 made threes per game with three games with 3+ this season. He takes a lot of attempts, with 8+ in all but one game and 10+ three times, and tonight he'll face the Lakers who allow nearly 40 attempts per game, and rank 23rd in opponent 3PT%.

Lillard went 4-of-8 from three in this same matchup earlier this season and he’s coming off a team-high 25 points in Wednesday’s win at Phoenix, which kept the Blazers unbeaten on the road.

The Dimers model projects Lillard for 2.7 made threes and 20.7 points.

Leg 3: Darius Acuff Jr. 3+ three-pointers made 

Game: Kings vs. Spurs

The data case: Sacramento’s rookie has had one of the most productive starts to a career in recent memory.

He’s averaging 26+ points per game and leads all rookies in scoring. On Halloween in Memphis, he tied the NBA rookie record with nine threes in a career-high 38-point game.

Darius Acuff's projections and recent games in the Dimers App.Acuff averages close to 10 three-point attempts a game, and he’s made 3+ in four of his last five, and he has also hit this number against San Antonio already, going 3-of-7 at the Spurs on Oct. 27.

With Victor Wembanyama protecting the rim, the Spurs push guards out to the perimeter, which suits a high-volume shooter like Acuff against a defense that ranks 26th in opponent 3PT% at 37.1%.
