Browns vs. Steelers Thursday Night Football preview

Pittsburgh's offense finally got going in Week 3.

After ranking last in the league in offensive EPA per play through two weeks, the Steelers put up 30 points in a 30-27 win over Cincinnati.

Aaron Rodgers threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns, and Jaylen Warren ran for 127 yards with Rico Dowdle out.

Cleveland opened the season with a 34-10 loss to Jacksonville, then won its next two games as an underdog, 23-19 over Tampa Bay and 21-18 over Carolina.

Browns QB Deshaun Watson has been more of a game manager while the young players have done the heavy lifting: Harold Fannin Jr. scored twice against the Panthers, and Denzel Boston already has 195 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

The market has Pittsburgh as a 2.5-point road favorite, and the total of 38.5 is one of the lowest on the Week 4 slate.

The Dimers model gives the Steelers a 60.0% chance to win and projects a 20-17 final, with a Pittsburgh cover by the slimmest of margins.

Our Browns vs. Steelers same game parlay picks

The three legs for tonight's parlay, each backed by the Dimers Pro data and straight from our NFL Projections Hub, featuring in-depth player-level insights for every single game.

Leg 1: Jaylen Warren 20+ receiving yards

The data case: Jaylen Warren was on the field for 90.3% of snaps in Week 3 and piled up 176 scrimmage yards, including 3 catches for 49 yards.

He's now cleared 30 receiving yards in back-to-back games, and 205+ in all three.

Rico Dowdle's toe injury leaves him questionable on a short week, and even if he suits up, Warren should get the bulk of the backfield work again.

Cleveland has seen 15 targets to RBs this season, with the RB most similar in playstyle to Warren, Chuba Hubbard, tallying 28 rec yards last week.

The Dimers model projects Warren for 24 receiving yards, along with a 45.0% chance to score, the highest of any player in this game.

Leg 2: Pat Freiermuth 30+ receiving yards

The data case: Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth hasn't had a big game yet, but he's been steady, with 46, 32 and 30 yards on 4-5 targets each week.

The Steelers use a lot of two-tight-end sets with Darnell Washington, which keeps 'Muth on the field, even when he's not a primary target.

Last week, Cleveland allowed three Panthers tight ends to record, 26, 41 and 51 receiving yards each, and the week before, Cade Otton caught 5 of 6 targets for 38 yards.

The Dimers model projects Freiermuth him at 34 receiving yards, third on the team behind DK Metcalf and narrowly behind Michael Pittman, with an achievable low line for a pass-heavy offense that's attempted the sixth most passes this season.

Leg 3: Denzel Boston 40+ receiving yards

The data case: Rookie WR Denzel Boston has cleared 40 receiving yards in all three of his NFL games (59, 95 and 41), bolsterd by big catches in every game of 46, 55 and 28 yards.

He also has touchdowns in Weeks 1 and 2, and even a quiet Week 3, with no catch until the fourth quarter, still got him to 41 yards.

He runs a route on over 90% of Cleveland's dropbacks and has drawn three of the team's five end-zone targes. He does rank third on the team in total targets, but is averaging 21.7 YPC compared to 6.7 and 90 for Celveland's top targets, KC Concepcion and Harold Fannin Jr. That won't sustain itself all year, but it's an early signal that Boston is the clear big-play target on this team.

The Dimers model projects him for 41 receiving yards, second on the Browns behind Fannin, putting him just over this line for a fourth-straight game.
