NFL betting guide for Week 2 picks and props.
Your ultimate guide to betting on NFL Week 2.

We turn to Week 2 for some NFL betting action after a high-scoring, thrilling and record-setting Week 1 to kick off the NFL regular season and road to Super Bowl LXI.

Between prediction markets opening a new way of sports trading and sportsbooks ramping up the promos, NFL betting will be at an all-time high this season and we are here to make sure you don't miss a beat as we head into Week 2.

That's where Dimers Pro comes in, and it was on full display in Week 1, cashing our Top 5 TD scorers, a number of longshots TD bets and calling the week's top upset in the Cardinals.

All season long, whether you're betting game lines with our best NFL bets, hunting a touchdown edge in our NFL player props, digging into our NFL player projections hub, or tracking Super Bowl futures, the Dimers model does the heavy lifting so you can bet based on data, not guesswork.

Find the narrative, check the data and let the numbers inside our NFL predictions do the rest while you sit back and take in every game this season.

Below, we break down the week's biggest storylines, our model's top spread and moneyline picks, and the players, markets and scenarios most worth your attention.

Three storylines to watch in Week 2

1. Rams bounce back

The Rams went down under in Week 1 and everything went upside down for the Super Bowl LXI favorite.

They were blown out 27-7 by the 49ers, lost offseason blockbuster acquisition Myles Garrett for at least 4 weeks and had to answer for their highly questioned travel plans.

Week 1 offers no cupcake matchup, with a Giants team that looked completely revamped under new HC John Harbaugh, and will probably feel a little disrespected as 7.5-point underdogs with a chance to make a statement on primetime.

The Dimers model gives the Rams a 51.4% chance to cover that spread, and with prediction markets trading the Rams at under 50% to do so, there's some significant value in buying the Rams to bounce back.

Strong TD probabilities for Kyren Williams (55.9%), Puka Nacua (43.0%) and Davante Adams (40.0%), point to high-scoring upside for Los Angeles.

2. Awards showcase on TNF

The favorite or co-favorite for the three biggest NFL player awards, MVP and Offensive/Defensive Player of the Year, will all play on Thursday Night Football in Week 2.

Josh Allen is the +490 MVP favorite, with Jahmyr Gibbs leading the OPOY race at +500, and Aidan Hutchinson a co-favorite for DPOY at +430.

Allen projects for the most fantasy points out of any player by the Dimers model, with a nearly 50% chance to score a rushing touchdown and a projection of 251.9 passing yards with 33.8 on the ground.

Gibbs is our model's most likely player to score two touchdowns, with an edge identified in his opening lines.

While we don't offer defensive player props on Dimers, we do see a 54.5% probability of the Under 54.5, and an edge in Josh Allen to throw under 1.5 passing touchdowns suggests a strong defensive presence from Detroit.

3. Sam Darnold sidelined

The Seahawks quest for a Super Bowl repeat began with a win, but before that result was in the books, they lost QB Sam Darnold to a "unique soft tissue injury" with backup Drew Lock stepping in and managing the team to a win.

Darnold isn't expected to miss long-term time, but will be out for at least Week 2, with Lock taking the helm on the road against a Cardinals team that shook things up with the biggest upset of Week 1.

Lock is a capable game manager and the Seahawks defense should do enough to keep them in most games, but the Dimers model isn't quite as confident.

Both the 3.5-point spread and moneyline offer an edge on the Cardinals side

Top picks against the spread in Week 2

These are the teams with the highest probability to cover the spread in their respective game this week.

They may not hold value, which is why you'll want to cross-reference with our NFL best bets - any spread picks with a betting edge will be identified there.

However, if you're looking to build NFL parlays with spreads, or make your choices in an NFL Pick 'ems league, these five teams are a good place to start.

  • Cardinals +3.5 vs. Seahawks (55%)
  • Bengals +2.5 @ Texans (55%)
  • Jaguars +2.5 @ Broncos (54%)
  • Ravens -7.5 vs. Saints (54%)
  • Lions +5.5 @ Bills (53%)

Like last week, three of these teams not only land in our Top 5 probabilities, but also get an edge to cover the spread at their best available odds - see every NFL bet with a Dimers edge here.

Who will win in NFL Week 2?

Here you'll find the five most likely outright winners this week. No spreads, no covering, and little betting value, just the five highest probabilities identified in our NFL predictions.

These are good teams to look at for weekly Survivor picks throughout the season, provided you haven't used one of them previously.

  • 49ers 87% vs. Dolphins
  • Ravens 77% vs. Saints
  • Buccaneers 76% vs. Browns
  • Rams 75% vs. Giants
  • Eagles 74% vs. Titans

Editor's Survivor pick: The Eagles' schedule doesn't get any easier than it does against the Titans in Week 2 and are an attractive pick, but you'll find several winnable games for them throughout the year. The Buccaneers don't have many "gimme" games this season, and they managed 27 points despite 4 turnovers in Week 1, so let's go with Tampa Bay to beat the Browns who looked like the same old disappointing franchise on Sunday.

Dimers' Sweet Spots to look for in Week 2

The "Sweet Spot" is a Dimers Pro feature that identifies the specific betting markets and edge ranges where our model is returning a positive profit over the course of the season.

These signals are the first to look for when researching a weekly NFL slate, as it shows where our model has proven to be most accurate .

Due to the launch of our brand-new NFL model, only props have Sweet Spots that have carried over from last season. Once we have enough bets in the bank, you'll find game lines here as well.

We're up to 7 markets with positive ROI compared to 5 last week, including Touchdown props making their way into our top markets, backed by bets with over a 10% edge.

Notably, passing completions has narrowed from a wider 3-10% edge range returning around 16% ROI, to a more specific 5-7% range that's returning over 30%.

Players to watch in Week 2

These are players who need to be on your radar, whether in fantasy leagues or for player prop betting.

Last week's top featured player, DJ Moore, tallied 100 yards and a touchdown.

1. Kaelon Black (49ers)

If somehow Kaelon Black is still on your fantasy football league's waiver wire as of reading this, go get him.

The 49ers rookie was expected to serve as a backup to Christian McCaffrey this season, but that wasn't exactly the case in Week 1.

He out-carried CMC 14 to 10, and though the incumbent star was more efficient with 68 yards, Black was quite good, turning in 65 yards at 4.6 YPC, catching his only target.

He won't seize the backfield, but he figures to serve in a change of pace role and looks like some of the best injury insurance in the league.

We project him for 35.4 rushing yards and a 33.3% TD probability in Week 2 vs. the Dolphins, compared to just 14.6 and a 9.2% chance in Week 1, signaling an increased role in a game that the 49ers could put away early based on our 87% win probability, and possibly rest McCaffrey down the stretch.

2. Ja'Marr Chase (Bengals)

He wasn't the biggest letdown of the week, but he was up there, as Ja'Marr Chase turned in 2 catches for 12 yards on four targets, a far cry from following up last year's top-five WR season.

He was perhaps a victim of game script in which the Bengals defense continually snuffed out drives, but the game was never too far out of reach and the volume simply didn't materialize.

He draws a matchup with the Texans, who entered this season with a top defensive unit, but allowed Josh Allen to throw for 334 yards and two touchdowns, with receiving performances of 130 and 100 yards to Dalton Kincaid and DJ Moore.

Chase projects as WR3 with 6.1 catches, 77.3 yards and a 41.9% chance of a touchdown.

The books may be pricing in his rebound as well; while Chase will be the popular target, it's another Bengals player with multiple edges to score in our Best NFL Props.

3. Colston Loveland (Bears)

Easily one of the most bizarre results of Week 1 was the Bears putting up 59 points and TE Colston Loveland, much hyped after a breakout and super efficient rookie season, leaving catchless on just two targets.

He let down fantasy teams and bettors alike, as the Bears simply cruised to a ground-and-pound win with six rushing scores. Better days will be ahead for Loveland, and it may begin as early as Week 2 when the Bears host the Vikings, thanks to a signal of value by the Dimers model.

NFL Week 2 best bets. Our early edge on Colston Loveland in Week 2.

Minnesota engineered a massive comeback in Week 1, but that was off the backs of a Packers collapse, and Jordan Love put up nearly 400 passing yards, 115 of those to tight ends.

Loveland projects as TE2 on the week, with 4 receptions and 51.1 receiving yards, along with a 33.3% TD probability. That comes with an edge against his best odds of +230 on bet365, with a fair price of +200.
