Who is DimersBOT? A look into our predictive analytics machine

Whether you’re a long-time reader of Dimers, or you’re just new here, you’ve heard us mention our resident robot, DimersBOT before. DB is the bot behind the plays from the Quick Picks and Bet Hub sections on dimers.com. But just who is DimersBOT really anyway? And how does it do what it does?

The Dimers staff took a look under the hood to see what makes our robot tick!

In the beginning...

Like any mechanical organism, DimersBOT was conceived not in the back of a Ford Mustang (like this article's author), but rather in the mind of a brilliant creator - a Dr. Gambler, if you will - for the sole purpose of answering the one question every sports bettor wakes up asking themselves each morning: who is going to win tonight?

Our DimersBOT had to learn. Learn about every league, every game, every team and every player. Through years of dedication, DB studied and learnt from the data fed to him by its creator.

It learnt how teams perform under certain conditions, like in the rain or snow. Or how they perform with only a limited amount of days rest. Or how they fare if they’re missing their star player. Our DimersBOT then went deeper by looking into the players themselves and how they perform under the same kind of factors, to establish exactly what it takes to find the perfect pick.

Some may say it's a sophisticated gambling robot sent back through time to change the future for one lucky community of sports bettors. Well, maybe not.

We are living in a simulation

With all of this knowledge now programmed, it was time to put it to use. DimersBOT took all the data and all the learnings, and simulated every game, over and over until finally, after 10,000 simulations, a likely winner appeared, the predicted final score was calculated and edges against the sportsbooks identified.

There’s nothing that excites DimersBOT more than sharing the love with the Dimers community.
