Three Must-Bet MLB Futures After April

Each of these bets is a value play based on the Dimers futures predictions and the odds available on the book.

They may not be the favorite, and should be considered medium-longshot plays, however the value is undeniable according to our model.

San Francisco Giants Win NL West (+1500 on BetRivers)

The NL West might be the most competitive division in baseball (if you ignore the basement-dwelling Rockies, anyway).

Four teams are over .500, with the first place Dodgers at 20-10, the D-Backs at 15-14 and the Padres and Giants between them.

We previously highlighted the value on the Padres, and since then, things have tightened up a bit in the odds. The Dodgers opened as absurd -700 odds to win the Division, which has fallen to -390. Still a heavy favorite, but our model says it's too much.

The Giants are one game back of L.A, sitting with a +25 run differential, a Top 10 mark in MLB. They've only just started division play with the teams in the NL West, meaning there's plenty of ground to be gained against their division opponents.

They're going to need more from their starting pitching, as veteran Logan Webb is their lone starter under a 3.00 ERA, but that can be addressed midseason.

As it stands, out model gives the Giants a 6.5% probability to win the NL West - tied with the Diamondbacks who are just +1200. At DraftKings, the Giants are as short as +950, and are +1400 at best on most other books.

The Bet: Giants Win NL West - Bet $10 to Win $150

Royals Win AL Central (+600 on bet365)

Switching gears to the American League, we're looking at Kansas City to emerge as the top dog in a vulnerable AL Central. 

In a division with the White Sox, this is 4-team race, already giving us a better chance than the more competitive divisions. The Tigers lead at 18-12 but the Royals are just 3 games back at .500 after the first month.

They're 5-2 in 1-run games, showing their ability to win the tough battles, but their -14 run differential suggests a need to juice up their offense - only three other teams in MLB have scored under 100 runs to date. But this is a potent lineup that can get going as the weather heats up and their pitching is very good - only six teams have allowed fewer runs.

The division title is a win-based result and the Tigers aren't running away with it, keeping the Royals in the mix early and they just went on a 7-3 run over their past 10 games.

Our fair odds at 29.7% would be just +240, presenting a big value here, and they're as short as +450 on some other books.

The Bet: Royals Win AL Central - Bet $10 to Win $550

Atlanta Braves Win National League (+850 on BetMGM)

Our last look at some futures value is on the Braves to punch their ticket back to the World Series and win the NL Pennant.

A slow start for Atlanta has them sitting at 14-15 coming off an 8-2 run over their past 10 games. That's tied for the best 10-game stretch in that span with their division counterpart, the Mets.

The Braves are digging out of their early-season hole and should be receiving some reinforcements in the form of former NL MVP Ronald Acuna Jr., who's working his way back from a torn ACL last May.

The Braves are looking like a playoff team after the slow start and don't need to catch up to the Mets and win the division - they just need to catch a Wild Card spot and let the postseason run begin.

Plus, if the books weren't worried about their chances, they wouldn't have the fourth-best odds to win.

Our 15.5% probability for Atlanta makes fair odds of only +545, presenting a notable 4.9% edge against their best odds at BetMGM.

The Bet: Braves Win National League - Bet $10 to Win $850
