Group C Prediction: Argentina

The South American champions will enter football's showpiece event with a refreshing new aurora around them heading into Qatar. With a revived Lionel Messi and an Argentina side that has finally found a system that accommodates the number 10, the ‘Albiceleste’ is expected to power through their Group C fixtures without any trouble.

Led by Lionel Scaloni on the touchline, Argentina have won not one but TWO titles in the last year and a half since the 44 year-old was appointed as Head Manager of the AFF.

Scaloni has established a well balanced team that’s both sharp and competitive on all cylinders of the field, having the luxury of working with many creative and dangerous attacking players.

Since his appointment, the team has displayed a scintillating brand of football which has practically brought Lionel Messi back to life, with a massive tactical adjustment in how Argentina create and attack in the final-third.

Argentina went undefeated throughout the qualification process, with 11 wins and 6 draws. Heading into Qatar, Argentina’s national team has made it clear they want to win the FIFA World Cup for Messi more than they do for themselves, says the team's number 1 Goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez.

"Will always be candidates because we have the best in the world" - Emiliano Martinez says Argentine players are 'lions' who fight for Lionel Messi. With the strength and belief behind this Argentina side, Messi and his nation will head into Qatar 2022 with odds of -220 to win Group C and +700 odds of winning the FIFA World Cup - something DimersBOT thinks is well within their grasp, giving them an 8.8% chance of lifting the trophy.

Group C Prediction: Mexico

El Tri’ will look to ultimately break their Round of 16 curse. Since the 1994 FIFA World Cup, seven World Cup tournaments have taken place and in each of those competitions the Mexicans have fallen out in the first round of the elimination process. El Tri’ will hope to break that streak and make their first quarter-finals appearance since 1986.

Before that, however, they will have to navigate themselves out of a tough group that will surely be a treat to follow. This year, the Concacaf giants will enter the 2022 FIFA World Cup with a manager who should know a thing or two about the group’s favorites Argentina.

Gerardo Martino has managed both Argentina and Barcelona in recent years and will know plenty about his home country and its sporting icon, Lionel Messi.

Mexico enters this tournament for the seventh time in a row and will kick off its group play against Poland, possibly their biggest rival for that second spot, should Argentina comfortably take care of business.

El Tri’ is always an exciting team to follow and a nation that consistently has a vibrant energy that offers something different from the traditional European and South American powerhouses.

The Mexicans displayed a solid showing in their qualification for Qatar 2022. With an 8-4-2 record, and finishing second on goal difference, Martinos' men failed to defeat both the U.S and Canada in qualifying. This raises obvious concerns about whether the side is prepared to take on some much stronger opponents in Doha. Given their consistent showing throughout the World Cup group stages, one thing that this Mexico side won't lack is energy and, most notably, passion. Martino’s men will head to Qatar at -111 odds of advancing from Group C with a 48.4% chance of doing so.

Group C Prediction: Poland

The Polish will enter football's showpiece event after two disappointing early exits at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2020. The Poles will be led by none other than the two time ‘Best FIFA Men’s Player’, Robert Lewandowski.

The 33 year-old recently joined F.C Barcelona and will be called upon again when Poland opens their World Cup campaign against Mexico on November 22nd.

Poland will be coached by Czeslaw Micniewicz, who was appointed as manager in January of this year. The 52 year old is very familiar with the ideology of Polish football having coached a number of domestic teams since 2006, including the Poland u21 team and club giants, Legia Warsaw, most recently.

Poland finished second in their qualification group to England and had to face Sweden in a second round playoff match to earn a place at Qatar 2022 and were victorious 2-0 thanks to goals from Lewandowski and Piotr Zielinski.

A well balanced team that should aim to compete for three points in each of their Group C matches, including their game against Argentina.

Micniewicz will look to lead Poland to the knock-stage for the first time since World Cup ‘86 where they were knocked out in the Round of 16. The squad's overall solidity and a star striker will surely have their fans dreaming big. Now, with a new coach and the opportunity to make history, Poland will enter the World Cup at +100 odds of advancing from Group C and DimersBOT has them down as a 53.2% chance to make the Round of 16.

Group C Prediction: Saudi Arabia

For the sixth time in their history, Saudi Arabia will return to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. This will be successive appearances for the Arabian Falcons after appearing at the 2018 tournament where they finished on a high with a win over Egypt in their final match.

Saudi Arabia will look to turn back the clock to their best ever finish. which came in 1994, when they advanced past a group consisting of the Netherlands, Belgium and Morocco. The three-time Asian Champions will be coached by Herve Renard, who was appointed in July 2019 in preparation for Qatar 2022.

The Arabian Falcons displayed a commanding showing throughout their AFC World Cup qualifiers, topping a group that included both Japan and Australia, two other Asian power houses that will also be in Qatar.

With a 7-2-1 overall record in the third round of qualification, Renard’s men secured top spot on the final day with a 1-0 win over Australia, thanks to a spot kick converted by Salem Al-Dawsari.

Despite an impressive qualification run, unfortunately this group is far too competitive for Saudi Arabia to advance from.

Having said that, anything is possible and that's why we love this game. The No. 53 FIFA ranked team will enter Qatar 2022 at +650 odds of just making the knockout stages with a probability of 13.5%.
