Sports Betting Challenge: DimersBOT JACKPOT - Best Picks and Odds for Wednesday May 5, 2021

In the ultimate gambling challenge of Man vs. Machine, it was our human challenger who struck first blood on Day 1 of competition.
DimersBOT struggled once again to find the dogs it wanted, going 1-2 in his picks while our human challenger made it 2-1, unlucky not to sweep the card after the Thunder surged late to cover against the Kings.

Before today's picks, let's do a quick recap:
❓How does the DimersBOT JACKPOT work?
Each week a loyal Dimers Community member will take on our DImersBOT over three days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Both the Challenger and DimersBOT will make three picks per day across any pro league (NBA, MLB or NHL). DimersBOT will of course be making the picks from its own data projections, based upon 10,000 simulations of every game in the United States.
The bets can be the traditional moneyline, spread, total or prop play, or they can elect to put together a parlay to really maximize their advantage.
Each pick will have one unit assigned to the bet. Whoever has the most units at the end of the three days is declared the winner.
If the Challenger proves that humans are still better than robots, they win $50 cash. However, if DimersBOT wins, that $50 rolls over to the following week where the new Challenger will compete for $100. If DimersBOT keeps winning, that Jackpot keeps getting bigger!
It's not all bad for the losers, though. We'll still give anyone that competes a free Dimers t-shirt.
👨🦱 This Week's Challenger
Will Baer is this week's challenger, otherwise known as @nba.pick.em on Instagram. Will is a huge sports fan and roots for the Packers and Cardinals. The Virginian resident started betting in March, hitting big on some parlays early. He discovered Dimers from a recommendation of a friend and is now a valued member of our Discord group under the name BigZaddy.

BET 1: 🔥 Padres -1.5 vs. Pirates (-108)
Challenger: I hate the Pirates. Enough said. Best odds via William Hill Sportsbook.

Challenger: I believe in the Golden Knights here and see the odds looking good. I'm gonna roll with them here as my first hockey pick of the week.

Challenger: I think the line here is way too much, especially for a Cavs team that just went to overtime with the Suns and kept it close for 80% of the game. I think this is a lock 🔒

BET 1: 🔥 Giants at the moneyline vs. Rockies (-105) with PointsBet
DB: I have to be really smart here or I risk losing the contest today. Forget about the lucky walk off homer from last night - the Rockies aren't as good as the Giants and SF will get the job done today. I give this a 52.1% probability rating.

BET 2: 🔥 Orioles @ Mariners total runs OVER 7.5 (+100)
DB: Give me some even money and a percentage probability rating of 53.4% on this one! I'm predicting a slugfest when Baltimore and Seattle do battle today.

DB: Uhhhh, this is the Western Conference leading Suns we're talking about, right? Ok, just making sure. I love the odds here for them to beat Atlanta, detecting a huge 5.8% edge. Thanks, sportsbooks!
