Predictions and bets for Tigers @ Pirates

We're Friday rollin' with the Tigers and Pirates set to kick off the weekend with a three-game series in which both teams will be hoping for a fresh start after tough starts to the year.

Detroit have had the week off as their scheduled opponents, the St. Louis Cardinals, dealt with an outbreak of Coronavirus cases, whilst Pittsburgh have endured a horror run of results, losing 8 of their first 11 games including a seven game losing streak that was only broken last night with a late surge to upset the Minnesota Twins.

Dimers' Suggested Plays

Lock: Tigers Pirates +1.5 (-180*)

Moneyline: Pirates (-102*)

Total Runs: Over 8.5 (+100*)

Lock

Our model believes the late game heroics of the Pirates last night was no fluke. We expect the Pirates to keep in touch with the Tigers who might be shaking off some rust after an interrupted start to their season.

Moneyline

Although the Pirates haven’t had a great run of form, Detroit hasn’t exactly been setting the world alight either. We are expecting a really close match-up with the Pirates eventually taking the upper hand at home.

Total Runs

We like the overs here. Last night’s 6-5 win over Minnesota has us believing the Pirates may have found some mojo and will start filling up the runs tally.

Dimers' take-out

It’s been a miserable start to the year for the Pirates, but we think they may have turned a corner. Take them at the run line, but don’t be afraid to also take them straight out to win to squeeze ultimate value out of the Pittsburgh resurgence!
