The city of Philadelphia is alive right now as the Phillies took the series advantage last night with an impressive 4-2 win. With a pivotal Game 4 ahead of us in which the Phils can completely break open the NLCS and get within one win of the World Series.

Starting on the mound for the Padres will be Mike Clevinger, and while the San Diego ace has been getting wins when he starts (The Padres have won 7 of the last 10 games where Clevinger has started), but he has been giving up runs at will - conceding an average of close to 3 runs per start over his last 10 outings. The Phillies will be rolling with Bailey Falter - a man who has been available but not used throughout this postseason so far. The fact that he hasn't appeared in any game since October 5 could lead to some concerns around rust, and an early dip into the bullpen is in the cards with reports indicating Falter will only pitch through the Padre rotation once. Falter has had limited reps against the Padres, only matching up twice previously in his career, giving up 3 ER from 1.2 IP. The Phillies bullpen have given up a 1.96 ERA over their last 5 games.

This is another tough one - a game that is delicately poised but one that ultimately looks like the home team can handle. The Phils relievers have been ultra impressive through the first three games of this series and with an early call beckoning, it might just be the advantage that propels to Philadelphia to a 3-1 lead.
