Oscars 2022 Betting Preview: Betting Odds on the Academy Awards

Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes are set to host the 94th Academy Awards this Sunday night in Hollywood.

Academy Awards betting has become a popular trend among both movie buffs and casual movie-goers alike, and this year’s Best Picture race offers plenty of interesting Oscars betting options. Dimers.com takes a look at the nominees and their current betting odds being offered over at Kalshi.com.

How Betting on the Oscars Works With Kalshi

Whether you want to bet on a specific movie to win the Best Picture award or you want to bet against it, Kalshi has you covered. Unlike most Oscars betting sites that have betting odds listed by the sportsbooks, Kalshi allows users to buy and sell markets for specific events. The price on different markets fluctuates based on demand for both sides, but your price is locked in once you bet on it.

All Academy Awards betting markets are offered as “Yes” or “No” propositions. If you buy a “Yes” position at $0.30, you stand to profit $0.70 minus fees for however many contracts you purchased if the event does occur. On the flip side, if you buy a “No” position at $0.80, you stand to profit $0.20 minus fees per contract. With this understanding of how Kalshi’s Oscars betting system works, let’s move on to this year’s top feature films, thanks to predictive analytics experts, Dimers.com.
