NBA Saturday Picks
The weekend is with us and playoff-like basketball is on the card today. We have 5 games waiting for us with heavyweight matchups all over the bubble. For some this will be a great tune up ahead of the postseason whilst others are still clinging to faint hope of making it in.
Here are our plays for a big day of NBA action:
Trail Blazers Moneyline (-180*)
There’s no doubting that the Trail Blazers have been on a tear since the NBA restart. After a disastrous start to the regular season all the way back in October 2019, Portland have been playing catch up.
Their form in the bubble has been nothing short of impressive, but they need to keep winning, and with The Clippers announcing they are resting Kawhi Leonard, this is a great opportunity to cash in. This is a sure fire boost for a weekend parlay.
Jazz +1.5 (+100*)
The Jazz rested a raft of stars yesterday against San Antonio as preservation sets in. Utah’s best should see some action in a game that our model sees as being almost unable to split. Expect a really close game that could go either way. Jazz to cover the spread is the value play here.
Lakers Moneyline (-261*)
The Lakers have had the number 1 seed in the West locked up for a few days now, but that hasn’t stopped the haters coming for the team from LA.
The Lakers still have a lot to figure out if they’re going to legitimately challenge for a title in October. The games thus far in the bubble have shown that LeBron James, Anthony Davis and their wacky bunch of role players lack a certain type of cohesion that’s required for the ultimate glory.
We expect them to start to work things out against the Pacers. Add the Lakers to your parlays.
Heat +1.5 (+100*)
The Suns have been the talk of the league in the first week of NBA action, with no team yet able to extinguish their flame.
Whilst the Suns chase an unlikely playoff berth, the Heat have already clinched theirs. The Heat have some injury concerns to top players, but our model predicts that the good fortunes may finally run out for the Suns. Look for Miami to end the dream run, take the Heat at the line.
Bucks moneyline (-220*)
The best of the day saved for last. Two generational talents in Giannis Antetokonumpo and Luka Doncic meet up as the Bucks take on the Mavs .
Both teams have had an interesting week with Dallas losing three of their first four since the NBA restart, while the Bucks fell to a banged-up Nets team that were the biggest NBA underdogs at the spread in 27 years.
Our model is tipping the Mavs misery to continue with the Greak Freak proving to be too much. Take the Bucks at the moneyline.
