Thanks to our predictive analytics model, we have an Over or Under bet for each and every NBA team (see below), with some teams presenting big money-making opportunities according to our data, so let’s get into it 👇

Last season regular (and post) season was mostly dominated by the Lakers, but beyond that, the West was EXTREMELY tight from 2nd to 7th and this year is looking like it could go down a similar path.

Across three books, we have identified six* teams in the West that provide the best value to us bettors, with four of the teams presenting value with BetMGM.

Dallas Mavericks (Over 42.5 wins)

There is a lot of hype around the Mavs this year, and with good reason - they’ve got the MVP favorite, Luka Doncic on their team. In a shortened 72-game season, it will be a herculean effort if the third-year point/forward can amass what would be the equivalent to 50+ wins in any other season, but our predictive analysis thinks it can be done. Doncic won’t be able to do it all on his own, however, and the health of the currently injured Kristaps Porzinigs will ultimately decide this bet. He needs to come back and come back ready to fire.

Los Angeles Lakers (Over 46.5 wins)

The reigning champs are stronger. Way stronger. That’s scary. Much has been made of the short turnaround for the Lakers since their triumph in the bubble, but the front office has been hard at work adding strength to a team that already contained two of the best five players in the league. LA have upgraded their depth across every position, adding names like Montrezl Harrell, Dennis Schroder and Marc Gasol. This team is going to be a powerhouse all season, and they’re going over.

👇 New Orleans Pelicans (Under 36.5 wins)

There is no question that the Pelicans are full of young and exciting talent, but in a Western Conference that is perennially stacked, this might not be the year the Pels take the leap. Zion Williamson will continue to build on his injury ravaged rookie year where he showed glimpses of the dominant force he will be in the league for the next decade, whilst they’ve added some solid vets in Steven Adams and Eric Bledsoe, but a lack of depth off the bench could lead to their downfall. A season teetering at or below .500 seems to be about right for New Orleans this season.

👇 Phoenix Suns (Under 38.5 wins)

Chris Paul shocked the basketball world last season in Oklahoma City. With many thinking he was a washed up former superstar on a bad contract, the guard who has had stops in New Orleans and Los Angeles, led OKC to a 50+ win season before being bounced in the first round of playoffs. Paul heads to Arizona to team up with two young stars in Deandre Ayton and Devin Booker who will be looking to make strides after their impressive Orlando bubble performance. Our predictive model, however, thinks it may take some time for the Phoenix three to jell which could prove costly with reaching the total of 39 wins.

San Antonio Spurs (Over 28.5 wins)

A well-known ancient proverb of the NBA is: Never underestimate Gregg Popovich. For the first time in almost two decades, the Spurs are just making up the numbers to most, and that may be, but 29 wins is certainly an achievable target for the wily old Popovich. San Antonio has a solid starting five - it’ll be enough to grind out some close victories with some veteren stars in DeRozan and Aldridge. Their bench depth is a concern, but this is an over you’ll want to take.
