Free MLB Picks for Tuesday May 17, 2022

Mariners vs. Blue Jays, 7:07PM ET

Toronto opened up their midweek series against Seattle last night with a win, and even though the Mariners will be sending out one of their best pitchers this season on form, we still think the Blue Jays have what it takes to double up. Logan Gilbert (4-1, 2.13 ERA) has been great for the Mariners in 2022, but he did catch some teams at a good time and has been brought back down to earth in his last two starts where he let up a combined total of 8 runs from 10 innings.

BET: Blue Jays moneyline (-136)

Yankees vs. Orioles, 7:06PM ET

New York's hitting weapons are hot and Baltimore's pitcher is not. The Yankees are heavily favored to get the W tonight, coming up against starting O's ace Spenser Watkins (0-1, 5.19 ERA). Watkins has made 6 starts this year, only last long enough to be eligible to record a result in one of those. In his last start, which only lasted 3.2 inning, he allowed 7 runs with just 3 strikeouts. That kind of form will be punished by these Yankees who rank 4th in the league for offensive prowess. We're taking the team total here.

Giants vs. Rockies, 8:40PM ET

It doesn't really seem to matter who the Rockies play, or who the starting pitchers are. The games always seem to go over. Colorado continue to leak runs at a rapid rate with 7 straight games going over the total set by the 'book, putting them as second last for opponent runs per game. As we saw with San Francisco's 7-6 win last night, if you give the Giants the opportunity to launch, they will. This total is high, but it doesn't seem to matter.

BET: Total runs OVER 11.5 (-108)
