MLB Saturday Picks

The MLB keeps keeping on despite the shadow of Coronavirus lurking over the league.

The weekend’s series are well and truly under way with a gigantic 15 games slated over the course of the day. There’s absolutely no reason to leave the couch today – here are our top MLB Saturday plays.

Astros @ Athletics

Astros Run line +1.5 (-158*)

The Houston Astros are in Oakland, playing an Athletics team who are on a 7-game winning streak, including a win last night against the suddenly not-so-powerful-anymore Astros.

The Athletics start is certainly turning heads, but our model is tipping the Astros to come back and snatch game 2 of the three-game series away from the A’s here. Houston at the run line is the bet here.

Braves @ Phillies

Braves Run line +1.5 (+142*)

The Braves and Phillies were washed out yesterday so both should be refreshed after a day off.

We did tip the Phillies yesterday to cover the run line in a game that never happened, but Philadelphia have tinkered with their line-up which has shifted the edge to the Braves in this one. Our model predicts Atlanta covering the run line with ease.

Angels @ Rangers

Over 9 runs (-121*)

A couple of sub-.500 teams continue their series as the Angels (5-9) meet the Rangers (4-8).

LA’s star-studded team have failed to provide much so far this season but have featured in some high run scoring games. Our model expects that to continue with a slugfest ahead of us.

Diamondbacks @ Padres

Over 7.5 runs (+102*)

The Padres welcome Arizona for the second of this three-game series, who will be trying to make it two from two against the Diamondbacks today.

The Padres won last night 3-0 but we are expecting a change of fortunes for the run total with different pitching line-ups today. Our model predicts a high probability an entertaining run fest.

Rockies @ Mariners

Over 9.5 runs (+155*)

We’re stunned that the Sportsbooks continue to undervalue the Rockies who continue to provide results. Last night the Rockies produced an 8-4 win against a Mariners team who are 5-10 and have quickly discounted themselves from playoff contention. Our model is predicting the over runs to cash in again at a high probability. We would recommend also taking the Rockies at the run line as well.
