MLB Betting Trends Wednesday June 22, 2022: Who's Hot, Who's Not and Where You Should Bet

Betting on baseball is all about knowing who's hot and who's not.

Dimers.com contributor Tony Bellissimo tours both camps in the Wednesday June 22, 2022 edition of MLB: Who's Hot and Who's Not.

Which MLB team is hot right now?

Here come the defending World Series champions. It took a while, but the Atlanta Braves have found their legs and its no coincidence the return of OF Ronald Acuna has coincided with their hot streak.

Though still chasing the Mets in the NL East, the Braves ripped off a recent 14-game winning streak to remind everyone they’re not about to fade away. Veteran pitcher Charlie Morton (4-3, 5.08 ERA) hasn’t been great but takes the mound tonight at Truist Park when the Braves face San Francisco.

Which MLB team is cold right now?

Heading into Wednesday night’s series finale against the league-leading Yankees, the Tampa Bay Rays are ahead of only Baltimore in the AL East.

The Tampa Bay Rays have dropped 8 of their last 11 games to slip into fourth place. Adding injury to insult they lost OF Manuel Margot, their leading hitter with a .302 average, indefinitely after he was carted off the field in Monday night’s loss to New York.

Highly touted SS Wander Franco (23 games missed) could return as soon as this Saturday.

MLB players: Who is in hot form?

Coming off the best start of his major league career in what’s shaping up to be by far his best season as a pro, Dodgers pitcher Tyler Anderson is red hot and will look to improve to 9-0 and has the struggling Reds in his way.

The southpaw took a no-hitter into the ninth inning of his last start and was two outs away from history when Shohei Ohtani spoiled the celebration with a triple. Anderson faced Cincinnati April 15 and allowed one run in four innings while striking out four.

MLB Players: Who is out of form?

After bursting onto the scene as a rookie in 2019 with 16 homers, 48 RBIs and 14 steals in 100 games, Toronto second baseman Cavan Biggio has had a rough time of it since. He has 16 homers, 64 RBIs and 10 steals in 171 games, and only one homer (a few nights ago), nine RBIs and one swipe this season with a .200 batting average in 33 contests.

Stuck at the bottom of the Blue Jays’ lineup, he doesn’t offer much in the way of at-bats, either.
