Braves vs. Phillies Best Bets
Friday, September 23, 2022 - 7:05PM ET
PICK: Braves First Five Innings Team Total 1.5 (+135)
PICK: Austin Riley Over 1.5 Total Bases (+160)
The Atlanta Braves continue their four game series with the Philadelphia Phillies tonight at Citizens Bank Park. If you haven't already signed up for BetMGM, this is the perfect time to do so by clicking ➡️ here ⬅️ for $20 free + a risk-free bet up to $1,000!
The Phils took Game 1 of this important series, which has playoff implications, by a 1-0 score. The Braves, who have clinched a playoff spot, fell to 1.5 games behind the New York Mets for the National League East division lead.
The Phillies remained 2.5 games up on the Milwaukee Brewers for the final Wild Card spot. The Phillies will send Aaron Nola to the mound, who is having a fine season.
Despite a 9-12 record, Nola has an ERA of 3.38 and a WHIP of 0.98. He has faced the Braves 4 times this season and has a 2-2 record with a 4.45 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP.
This includes a start last Saturday in which he gave up 4 Earned runs in 7 innings in Atlanta. Nola has had trouble during September in his career as he has a 4.47 ERA, which is the highest of any month.
This September, however, he has a 2.87 ERA in 3 starts. While I think he will pitch well tonight, I do like the value of the Braves scoring 2 runs in the first half of the game, just like they did last week.
Austin Riley is one of the many Brave hitters that have hit Nola well over his career. Riley is 16/40 against him with 5 Doubles and 3 Home Runs.
He is coming off a game last night in which he was 3/3, collecting 4 Total Bases. Riley has hit this mark in 10/16 against the Phils this season and 5/7 at Citizens Bank Park, where he has a career .330 average with an ISO of .319.
I like this price on Riley to clear his Total Bases line tonight, so bet Braves First Five Innings Team Total 1.5 (+135) and Austin Riley Over 1.5 Total Bases (+160) with BetMGM ➡️ here ⬅️ and claim an awesome new customer bonus while you're at it - including a $20 free bet, just for signing up!
