European Soccer 2021/22 Picks and Predictions Week Ending Feb 27

European Soccer 2021/22 Picks and Predictions Week Ending Feb 27

Prospector Sam is here with your free soccer picks for this weekend's European soccer action.

Last weekend, in the midst of all the gamblng, I somehow stumbled my way into a game of “Ticket to Ride; European Edition.” Yes, I love board games and I will not apologize for it, but that’s neither here nor there. More importantly, I came to realize just how funny it is that I have an incredible understanding of European geography without having been to absolutely any of these places.

Check out Prospector Sam's brand new podcast!

As my fellow players struggled to figure out what cities were located in which places on the board, I had absolutely no problem finding Cadiz or Kiev or any other number of unusual places because I’ve seen every single one of them on TV watching obscure European soccer. On the one hand, it’s a bit sad that my only practical knowledge comes from gambling and not real life experiences, but on the other hand it was a pleasant reminder that our degeneracy does have real world value. In fact, it’s almost meaningful enough to teach in schools if we’re being honest.

Not only does gambling give you insight into world geography and the international relationship between countries (see, Champions League), you also need to have a firm grasp on statistics, probability, history (i.e. previous matchups) and any other number of significant traditional subjects. So, if we’re being completely honest, the real lesson here is that it’s time to start teaching kids how to gamble from a young age, because to not do so would be a disservice.

On that note, here are some picks before I start printing my campaign posters ⤵️

Free Belgian Prop League Picks For Week 29, 2021-22

Beerschot vs. Charleroi, Fri Feb 25, 2:45pm (ET)

If there’s anyone consistently reading my articles from Beerschot, I apologize, because it probably feels like I’m picking on your team (also, why in god’s name are you reading my articles). And, to be honest, I am. Your team sucks. Which is why, after a moderate amount of time deliberating, I’ve easily come to the decision to bet against them again. Why? Well, a -30 goal difference, and average of about .6 points per game, and a horrendous record against teams in the top half of the table all seem applicable, and the matchup itself doesn’t bode well for them either. Charleroi are a solid team still fighting for a chance at European football, and they put up 5 goals the last time these two played, which shows that both history and motivation play in their favor. While Beerschot arguably have some life left in them for surviving the drop, nothing about their play this year suggests they can do it and I’ll gladly take the visitors to win at close to standard odds. Charleroi ML is the play here.

⛏️ PICK: Charleroi moneyline (-120)

Free Bundeslige Picks For Week 24, 2021-22

Greuther Furth vs. Koln, Sat Feb 26, 9:30am (ET)

Well would you look at that, a little pattern has emerged this week. It’s not necessarily a lazy approach, but sometimes keeping things simple in gambling is better and I’ve watched enough of certain teams by now to know just how god awful they are. So, much like with our friends in Belgium, we’re going to bet against the last placed team in the league because that feels like a fairly smart decision. Sure, Greuther gave Bayern a scare for 45 minutes last week (before imploding like a cheap lip filler), but this team has a -40 GD on the season and are close to the point where their heroic push for safety inevitably falls flat on its face. Koln aren’t exactly stellar, but they’ve gotten into 7th by winning the games they need to and this is exactly one of those moments. A win here, ignoring other results, would put them into 4th place in the table and I expect they come out and handle their business.

⛏️ PICK: Koln moneyline (-110)

Free Ligue One Picks For Week 26, 2021-22

Metz vs. Nantes, Sun Feb 27, 9:00AM (ET)

Books are simply not respecting how good Nantes have been this season. Sure, they barely survived the drop last campaign, but this team sits 7th in Ligue 1 and just beat league leader PSG by multiple goals. To me, that seems like a decent side capable of doing damage against 19th placed Metz and I’m going to put some money on that assumption. Unlike the last two bets though, we’re going to get a bit more nuanced and take Nantes team total over 1.5 at +164. Not only is the payout value better than the ML, but Metz have a bit more quality than the two previous teams we faded and they score fairly well, which means the team total is more advantageous. Basically, by taking over 1.5 instead of the outright victory, the only result we give up is a 1-0 win with added protection of hitting on a high scoring result even if Nantes don’t take all 3 points. I think that approach works better here in a game I expect to play fairly open (mostly because Metz just don’t defend all that much), and Nantes 2-0 win in the reverse fixture backs that assumption.

⛏️ PICK: Nantes Team Total OVER 1.5 (+164)

Free Danish Superliga Picks For Week 19, 2021-22

Viborg vs. Copenhagen, Sun Feb 27, 10:00am (ET)

Well, turns out my bragging last week came back to bite me in the ass in a turn that almost everyone probably saw coming. I talked up my record in the Danish Superliga from 2021 only for Midtyjlland to come out and lay an ostrich sized egg in their first match back. Humbling, certainly, but not enough to deter me. And because I still have faith in my expertise of the Danes, I’m going to go ahead and bet Copenhagen’s team total in this one. The league leaders average 2 per match and won’t face the same rest issues that Midtyjlland did because they’ve been knocked out of European competitions, which is a plus. Last weekend Copenhagen came out and comfortably handled Odense 2-0, and I believe they’ll manage at least as many goals against a similarly placed Viborg side that gives up 1.5 per match. At -113, we get strong value and the protection against any weird result so long as the visitors find the net. Bet on some goals here.

⛏️ PICK: Copenhagen team total OVER 1.5 (-113)
