On the eve of the first PGA Tour event of 2021, The Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, you can’t help but reflect on the crazy year that was 2020.
We saw everything come to a complete stop, then return without fans. We saw Bryson return completely transformed into something more resembling The Hulk than a PGA Tour Golfer.
We saw Rory go from being in the Top 5 of what felt like every tournament he entered prior to the shutdown to come back and struggle. Guys like Brian Gay and Hudson Swafford raise more trophies last year than Tiger, Rory and PGA Rookie of the Year Scottie Scheffler combined.
We saw Collin Morikawa miss a 3 foot putt to lose in a playoff to then come back and win not only The Workday but also the PGA Championship where he eagled one of the final Par 4’s with one of the best shots of 2020.
We saw Jim Herman come out of nowhere to win last year, making all 3 people who picked him very happy.
Let’s not forget, our eventual FedEx Cup Champion Dustin Johnson. He fired off two straight rounds of 80+ to have everyone questioning if he still had what it takes, to the go on a historic run to capture not only the FedEx cup but the first fall edition of The Masters.
Things can change in the blink of an eye in golf, so betting on golf really is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.
Betting in general we all know is not an exact science. If there was a perfect formula then we would all be rich. There is something however much different about betting on golf. There is no sweat like it in all of sports betting. To have to grind and wait through 4 days and 72 holes against a field of the best in the world where one little mistake could cost someone everything.
Not to mention unlike most games where there are two sides competing, golf is mostly 1 vs 100+ others, so naturally it’s a little tougher picking a winner when you have over 100 options. But the thrill of picking a winner in a golf tournament is unlike any other feeling in sports betting.
So here we are, mere hours away from placing our first Golf bets of 2021. We get to watch the best players in the world play in paradise while we all sweat it out hoping to cash in on some winning tickets. As I stated already there is no exact science to winning, there is however Dimers Tournament Predictions to help guide us!
