Best World Cup Bets Today

Qatar vs. Senegal, 8:00AM ET

On face value, both Qatar and Senegal lost their openers 2-0 but the circumstances could not be more different. Senegal lost to a potential World Cup favorite, despite giving the Netherlands a really tough game - winning the xG battle and having their share of possession. Meanwhile, Qatar was very much outplayed by #44 ranked Ecuador, and didn’t have much in the run of play to be happy about.

Senegal will be looking for great games, once again, from Kouyaté, Mendy, Sarr, and Sabaly, while Qatar will need a stronger showing from their Goalkeepers. Al Sheed only made one save vs Ecuador, and made numerous errors, one leading directly to a goal against.

Given how poor Qatar looked defensively, and Senegal’s weakness on the counter, I’m betting the alternative Over here.

BET: Over 3.5 goals (+300) with BetMGM ➡️ here ⬅️.

Netherlands vs Ecuador, 11:00AM ET

Netherlands put in a great performance against Senegal but they weren’t perfect. If Ecuador can have a similar level of solidity then you could see another game where the Dutch are frustrated until late in the game. Ecuador are coming off their 2-0 win over Qatar and are looking to at least grab a point off of one of the tournament favorites. If they can stay within their game, and keep things structured, it is possible that they too can frustrate the Netherlands throughout this matchup.

Enner Valencia was crucial for Ecuador, scoring both of their goals against Qatar, while Cody Gakpo and Davy Klaassen led the way for the Oranje, much needed since they only generated .67 expected goals through the entire game.

I don’t see either of these teams struggling to score and I'm expecting a free-flowing, attractive game of soccer.

BET: Over 3.5 goals (+240) with BetMGM ➡️ here ⬅️.

England vs USA, 2:00PM ET

As an American soccer fan you have to be looking at this fixture nervously, England came out swinging against Iran, beating them 6-2 and scoring in all types of ways. Meanwhile, the US had trouble taking advantage of a Wales team that was backpedaling throughout the first half, walking away with a 1-1 draw after conceding an 85’ penalty to Gareth Bale. There are questions about the health of Harry Kane but England have proven that they don’t need Kane at one hundred percent to win in dominant fashion.

The US will know that they need at least a point here to make life easier on themselves ahead of their match with Iran but are looking in the face of a legitimately great England team. If they are to escape with a point it will come from a strong defensive showing, they haven’t allowed more than 2 goals in well over a year and could use their defensive structure to frustrate England and not allow them to come forward on the break as often as they did against Iran.

Given the stakes of this matchup, not to mention the fact that both teams would be satisfied for a point each, the draw feels like a good bet to make.

BET: DRAW (+320) with BetMGM ➡️ here ⬅️.
