Best NBA Betting Picks and Parlay Today - Wednesday, February 8, 2023

On an evening that features nine exciting NBA matchups, we're here to narrow down our three best bets for the slate. This night features an ESPN doubleheader in which the Boston Celtics host the Philadelphia 76ers and the Dallas Mavericks take on the Los Angeles Clippers. That second game is an exciting one, as Kyrie Irving is expected to make his Mavericks debut. However, we don't have a pick for either of those two national television games, as we have found some value elsewhere. With that said, keep reading for our expert's picks, that also happen to have some predictive analytics and artificial intelligence sprinkled in. Also, make sure you check out our NBA player props parlay today for a shot at a big payout.

As always, we've simulated all of the night's NBA games 10,000 times each to determine where the value lies for sports bettors across the United States.

Best NBA Bets Today

Charlotte Hornets vs. Washington Wizards, 7:00PM ET

Since the start of last season, the Wizards are 24-37 against the spread when coming off a home game. Washington is also just 27-45 ATS after having failed to cover the spread in its previous game since then. Now, the Wizards host a Hornets team that is surprisingly 13-4 ATS when playing on the road after failing to cover in back-to-back games over the last two seasons.

Realistically, this Charlotte team can be very hard to trust, but the Hornets have oddly had the Wizards' number in recent years. Over the last three seasons, Charlotte is 6-4 straight-up and 8-2 ATS in this head-to-head series. That includes two covers for the Hornets in three meetings this season.

Washington also happens to be struggling right now, with the team coming into this one after losing three straight — and failing to cover in all three. With that in mind, we trust LaMelo Ball and Co. to keep this game close until the very end.

DID YOU KNOW? Charlotte's Mason Plumlee has recorded more than 3.5 assists in seven of his last 10 appearances. That and more in our NBA Trends section.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Toronto Raptors, 7:30PM ET

There's a chance this is the last time we see this group of Raptors together, as Toronto is the talk of the NBA trade deadline. While that might inspire these players to play a good game, it could also make for something of an awkward evening — especially when Toronto could opt to sit any of its players right before tipoff in order to prevent a trade candidate from getting injured. On top of that, the Raptors are also without OG Anunoby tonight. Not only is he likely to be dealt, but he's one of the better two-way players in the game.

Of course, the Spurs are playing some terrible basketball coming into this one, with the team entering this contest on a nine-game losing streak. However, it's tough to ask a below average team to win by double digits in this league, so we think this is a little too many points for Toronto to win by.

Keep an eye on Spurs guard Malaki Branham here. He's averaging 21.0 points per game over the last three games and is really in a groove as a scorer.

SAY WHAT? Toronto's Pascal Siakam has collected fewer than 7.5 rebounds in seven of his last 10 appearances. You can find more stats like this in our NBA Trends section.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Utah Jazz, 9:00PM ET

Over the last two seasons, the Over is 26-13 when Minnesota has faced teams that make at least 46.0% of their shots in the second half of the season. The average total points scored in those games is 238.5 points per game. The Over is also 31-22-2 in all games that Utah has played this season, so this is clearly a team that gets involved in shootouts rather often.

It also can't be ignored that Minnesota is coming off a game in which the team gave up 258 points against the Denver Nuggets. That was a miserable defensive performance, and the Timberwolves might not be able to fix all of their mistakes on such short notice.

The Jazz are also third in the league in offensive rating over the last 10 games, so this is a team that is capable of taking advantage of an opponent's defensive shortcomings. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves should also have no trouble helping Over bettors, as they have scored at least 120 points in two of their last three games.

TREND: We've also identified an NBA trend for Minnesota's Anthony Edwards that's worth consideration. Edwards has recorded more than 4.5 assists in 10 of his last 14 appearances.

BET: Over 236 (-110) with DraftKings ➡️ here ⬅️.
