The fact is, the Brewers are better than the Rockies in all areas of the field, and they'll have the starting pitching advantage as well today with Eric Lauer (10-6, 3.54 ERA) set to beat Kyle Freeland (7-9, 4.75 ERA) in the early going. The Rockies have lost their last 5 games in which Freeland has started and we see that continuing this afternoon.

Clayton Kershaw (7-3, 2.59 ERA) will be given the ball for the Dodgers in Los Angeles this afternoon and while generally you can count on a solid performance, the Giants is a team he has struggled against in 2022 with a 5.11 ERA from 3 appearances so far. That's a potential concern with the recent form of San Francisco starter Alex Cobb (5-6, 3.58 ERA). Cobb has had shutout starts in each of his last 2 games and could prove to be a problem for this LA offense. This could end up being a lot closer than people think.

Guardians vs. Royals, 8:10PM ET

Cleveland have done exactly what they've had to against the Royals so far this week, which is to just keep winning. With the way the AL Wild Card race is shaping up, it's the division title or bust for the Guards if they want to see postseason baseball, but they could be in for a doozy tonight with the inexperienced Cody Morris (0-1, 9.00 ERA) on the mound, facing off against Zack Greinke (4-8, 4.14 ERA). Morris lasted just 2 innings in his Major League debut against the Mariners on September 2 - a game the Guardians would eventually go onto win 6-1. Greinke's numbers have been nothing to write home about, but he is an assured pitcher who might be able to hold the Cleveland hitters over while the Royals offense goes to work on Morris.
