Best MLB Bets Today

Red Sox vs. Orioles, 4:10PM ET

These two teams played out one of the games of the season last night as the Orioles opened their home weekend series with a bang, winning 15-10 over the Sox to notch their 62nd win of the season, making them the first team in the MLB to hit the over on their Vegas season win total. That's all well and good for this Baltimore team - and we've loved watching them - but we're expecting them to come back down to earth this afternoon with the Red Sox sending out a pitcher in some nice form in Michael Wacha (7-1, 2.44 ERA). Wacha is coming off a shutout performance against the Yankees on August 14 and has enough in his arsenal to suggest that he'll be able to stunt the efficiency of the Orioles hitters. On the other side of things, the Sox hitters should get the chance to flourish with the wayward Kyle Bradish (1-4, 6.38 ERA) on the mound for Baltimore. We've got Boston getting one back here.

Royals vs. Rays, 4:10PM ET

Kansas City continues to have a Kris Bubic-sized problem in their pitching rotation. Bubic (2-7, 5.10 ERA) has just not looked up to it at times throughout the course of this season and will be on the mound again today against the Rays, and perhaps their number 2 guy in Drew Rasmussen (7-4, 2.80 ERA). This is just far too heavily weighted in the favor of Tampa Bay.

Mariners vs. Athletics, 7:15PM ET

Seattle have been on fire over the past week with four straight wins, all by convincing margins. Last night was no exception as they opened up their weekend series in Oakland with a thumping 10-2 win. With their offense in some serious form, not to mention a run defense that is among the best in baseball, the A's hitters (who rank 29th in the league for runs scored per game) just aren't at the same level. Another lopsided pitching duel beckons with James Kaprielian (3-7, 4.33 ERA) on the bump for the Athletics, pitting him against Logan Gilbert (10-5, 3.51 ERA) for the Mariners. Another easy win for Seattle.
