National Championship Player Props: Ohio State vs. Alabama

If you’re less than enthused about the usual suspects playing in tonight's National Championship, and are also pretty sure that Alabama is going to beat Ohio State and claim another Title with Saban, then build in some fun benchmarks for the game and check out the recently published player props.

As a man that loves his value, it’s tough to get turned on needing three Najee Harris to turn a profit, but there are some really nice plays on the board. For this exercise I will be looking through DraftKings.

First Touchdown 🏈

Jahleel Billingsley +1000

Billingsly, a very athletic tight end, or a very large receiver, however you want to look at it, is probably the most likely touchdown scorer from Alabama apart from Harris or Heisman winner Devonta Smith. If Ryan Day and the Buckeye staff is worth its salt, they’ve watched a lot of Bama’s 1-2 and come up with some form of opposition. Can’t account for Billingsly when you’ve got to commit as much as you’re going to have to in that situation.

Anytime Touchdown πŸˆ

Jaylen Waddle +110

If Waddle doesn’t go down this year, Mac Jones is probably the Heisman winner, because he’s mirrored the stats of Devonta Smith. I also don’t think they’re hustling Waddle back from injury ahead of the NFL Draft if he isn’t healthy enough to contribute. The same cortisone that coursed through Justin Fields ribs will be pumped into Waddle and he’ll have a TD.

Rushing Yards πŸˆ

Trey Sermon - Over 102.5

The only chance that Ohio State has in this one leads to pounding the rock to Sermon behind that excellent offensive line, and controlling the clock to shorten the game and bore the Alabama offense. 102.5 isn’t all that much considering his recent efforts, it basically just comes down to touches here, and I think regardless Ohio State is going to really try and run the football. Bama has to be concerned with Sermon running, but historically, they have more trouble with running quarterbacks and will still have to key on Fields.

Receiving Yards πŸˆ

Miller Forristall - Over 26.5

Ohio State’s linebackers are solid, but aren’t the swiftest. The depths and speed of their drops, when accounting for Bama’s receivers, is going to be really really tough. Forristall should have a field day underneath if Mac is patient enough.

Garrett Wilson - Over 74.5

Wilson’s o/u against Clemson was too high, this one is too low. Wilson is a really good young receiver, and you know that Saban’s gonna have Surtain and extra eyes on Olave.

DraftKings Review and Offers

Rushing Yards - 1H πŸˆ

Najee Harris - Under 55.5

He could make me regret this one with one run, but I think Bama comes out passing, Buckeyes come out bleeding clock, and Harris doesn’t have the opportunities to get 56 rushing yards before half.
